The Wilmington Preschool of Fine Arts (located at the Wilmington School of Ballet) is a joyful place for the young child to learn and grow through creative play and the arts. Integrating the arts into academics is a proven method for developing a love of learning in the young mind. Shapes and colors are taught all day as they count flowers in a painting or the beats of their favorite song.
Gross and fine motor skills are developed by a professional movement educator in a studio setting. Holidays and character education are also pillars of our Preschool experience. The monthly art themes are woven into the curriculum themes.
At the Wilmington Preschool of Fine Arts, we love children and are committed to nurturing their natural wonder as they are prepared for a life of learning. Both music and art are very important tools for learning. In addition to the children having music class daily, we regularly use music in the classroom to familiarize them with classical composers and introduce them to multi-cultural sounds and experiences. We also use songs and chant to help children to memorize material. Our art classes use many different mediums, exposing children to new ways of using art as self-expression. We also expose the children to various classical works of art to broaden their art experience. The curriculum also includes dance/movement, basic signing, and instruction in both French and Spanish. New families welcome to stop by for a tour of our preschool. Tours given daily 11 a.m. - noon. Please call ahead to schedule a tour, 794-9590. |
